The economy of France ranks as the fifth largest economy by nominal GDP. France is also the sixth largest exporter and fourth largest importer of manufactured goods worldwide. The nuclear technology is one of the country’s largest investments and power. The large fertile land, modern technology and EU subsides have made France a leading agricultural producer and exporter in Europe.
The French franc was the country’s currency until January 1, 1999, when it was replaced by the euro.
